Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University as of 1st August 2025. Those awaiting results or whose final result is not declared by this date are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025)
- For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years
(Candidates must be born between 02.08.1995 and 01.08.2007) - For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18 to 27 years
(Candidates must be born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007)
Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD: 10–15 years (as applicable)
- Ex-servicemen and other categories also get relaxation per rules.
Monthly Salary
Selected candidates will receive salaries as per the pay matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission:
- Grade ‘C’: Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
- Grade ‘D’: Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100)
Additional benefits include DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as applicable to central government employees.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted in the following stages:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
This objective-type test will assess:- General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks)
- General Awareness (50 marks)
- English Language & Comprehension (100 marks)
- Skill Test in Stenography
Candidates who qualify in the CBE will be shortlisted for the skill test:- For Grade C: Dictation at 100 words per minute (wpm)
- For Grade D: Dictation at 80 wpm
The transcription time depends on the language chosen (English or Hindi).
Final selection will be based on performance in both stages and the preferences submitted by the candidate.
